Saint Patty's Rally by Bill Chapel

Don't pinch me!!  I've got protection--a green button that says--you can't pinch me!!

Another year for St. Patty's Day Balloon Rally has come and gone, and, of course, "iffy" weather that seems to go with it.  We had a great flight Saturday, the 15th of March, midst the Los Lunas herds of livestock and planted fields.  My passenger was a first timer and he said, "It was an experience of a lifetime."  Isn't this what ballooning is all about?  Such a great crew I have--it's why I still get a kick out of celebrating a good flight, sharing the "goodies", telling and hearing stories, and enjoying all the great hugs.

We didn't fly Sunday the 16th due to the threatening weather expected early.  As it turned out, we could have flown, but when we're warned, we grey beards usually head for the local "Murphy's Mule Barn", but in this case we went to the Isleta Casino cafe since it was on the way home and has great parking for our longer vehicle-trailer set up.

Fun weekend for us all--thanks Valencia Flying and Retrieval Society.
